WPBA Partner Spotlight: Joshua Torres | Wings Of An Angel Aviation

April 28, 2026 6:40 PM | Sheri Horvath (Administrator)

Joshua Torres is on a mission to make the sky feel a little more within reach. Through Wings Of An Angel Aviation, Joshua is building a flight school centered on accessibility, encouragement, and the belief that aviation is not just for a select few; it is for anyone willing to pursue the dream.

Just one year into business, Joshua has already created something special. His approach is to treat every potential student like they belong. From the first conversation, students are welcomed as part of the team, not just customers passing through. That mindset is shaping a culture where people feel supported, capable, and motivated to take the next step.

At the heart of his work is a bigger vision. Joshua wants to create an environment where people feel like family, especially those who may not think aviation is financially or practically possible for them. His goal is to guide, encourage, and help remove barriers wherever he can.

That vision came to life the moment his first student passed their private pilot checkride. This milestone was proof that this dream is real, that the path works, and that what he’s building is opening doors for others to follow.

Like many in the industry, Joshua faces the challenge of cost. Aviation is not inexpensive, and marketing often takes a back seat to operations. But what he has built instead in word-of-mouth momentum is more powerful. Through WPBA, Joshua has connected with people who believe in what he is doing and are eager to support it, whether through referrals, sponsorships, or simply spreading the word.

Those relationships have helped fuel his growth.

Each connection has opened doors, introduced new opportunities, and reinforced the idea that when people understand the mission, they want to be part of it. In turn, Joshua hopes his work is inspiring others to see aviation as something possible, not something out of reach.

What he loves most about WPBA is the sense of family. It mirrors exactly how he wants his business to feel; supportive, connected, and built on genuine relationships.

He also hopes more people realize that it is possible to build a life around something you truly enjoy. That work does not have to feel like work when it is aligned with passion and purpose.

And here is a detail that tends to catch people off guard...Joshua is terrified of heights. Which makes his career choice either incredibly ironic or incredibly inspiring, depending on how you look at it.

Through courage, community, and a commitment to making aviation more accessible, Joshua is helping others take flight. And that is the kind of story worth watching.
